Czas Wina is one of Kraków’s largest and most respected wine shops, featuring a vast collection of bottles from diverse regions. They also host tastings and workshops, perfect for those wanting to deepen their wine knowledge.

The rolling hills and fertile soils surrounding Kraków are home to a growing number of boutique wineries producing award-winning Polish wines. Just a short drive from the city, these vineyards offer scenic landscapes, warm hospitality, and tastings of locally grown varietals.

Situated at the foot of the Camaldolese Monastery in Kraków’s Bielany district, Winnica Srebrna Góra is one of Poland’s largest vineyards, spanning 28 hectares. The vineyard produces a variety of wines, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, Regent, and Seyval Blanc. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the vineyard and wine tastings in a dedicated enotourism pavilion.

Located approximately 10 km from Kraków and near the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine, Winnica Wieliczka is Poland’s only certified biodynamic vineyard. The vineyard cultivates classic European grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet, Muscat, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Visitors can tour the vineyard, learn about its organic farming methods, and taste a selection of its wines.

Situated about 30 minutes from Kraków’s Main Square, Winnica Jura lies on the limestone slopes of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The vineyard spans four hectares and grows nine grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Solaris, Johanniter, Hibernal, Seyval Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Cortis. Winnica Jura offers private vineyard tours and wine tastings, often accompanied by local appetizers.

Located in the Polish Jurassic Upland, approximately 32 km from Kraków, Winnica Kresy is a family-run vineyard owned by Robert Zięba. The vineyard cultivates eight grape varieties: Regent, Rondo, Cabernet Cortis, Monarch for red and rosé wines; and Solaris, Hibernal, Johanniter, Seyval Blanc for white and orange wines. Notably, their red wine “Transfiguration 2015” is a blend of Regent, Rondo, and Cabernet Cortis, known for its intense body and balanced acidity.

Situated in the Lesser Poland countryside, Winnica Gaj is a small, family-owned vineyard that emphasizes traditional methods and regional authenticity. Visitors can tour the vineyard, meet the winemakers, and taste wines paired with local foods.

Embarking on a self-guided winery tour from Krakow is a fantastic way to explore the region’s wine culture at your own pace. If you have time to venture into the picturesque countryside, you’ll discover charming wineries offering unique experiences and exquisite wines within an hour of Krakow.

If you only have one day for a wine tour, we suggest visiting the following three wineries:

• Winnica Gaj
• Winnica Srebrna Góra

If you have a driver (and you definitely should), you could leave Krakow after lunch, visit all three wineries, and be back in Krakow in time for dinner. Of course, how long the tour takes will depend on how many wineries you visit and how long you spend at each winery.
