If you travel by car, Copsa Mare is 33km (21 miles) from Sighisoara, 80 km (50 miles) from Sibiu, and 150 km (93 miles) from Brasov.
Parking in Copsa Mare
We parked on the main road at the bottom of the hill. Copsa Mare is a small town and parking will not be an issue.
Public Transportation to Copsa Mare
If you prefer to leave the driving to someone else, public transportation will get you most of the way to Copsa Mare. You can take the train to Dumbrăveni and get a taxi for the last 13km (8 miles) to Copsa Mare. However, you should check the train schedule to and from Dumbrăveni in advance because the train does not run often.
If you are traveling from Sighisoara, it will be easier, quicker, and more convenient to take a taxi for the entire 27km (17 miles) journey and skip the train.
Visiting Copsa Mare Fortified Church
The keyholder who lives in the blue house just down the hill opened the door to the walls and the entrance to the church for us at 9:00 a.m.

It is necessary to contact the keyholder to arrange entry to the Copsa Mare Fortified Church. There is no ticket office.

The entry fee is around 10 RON per person.
