Casa Joseph Haydn
During our visit to Casa Joseph Haydn, we found several Romanian wines on their list. The servers were knowledgeable about the selection, and we opted for a bottle of Aurelia Visinescu Artisan Red. This wine is a blend of Feteasca Neagra, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, and it paired perfectly with the traditional dishes we ordered. We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this restaurant to other wine enthusiasts.

Casa Georgius Krauss
The bar area at Casa Georgius Krauss may be small, but it’s a nice spot to grab a drink before dinner. They offer a selection of Romanian wines by the bottle, along with a Sauvignon Blanc and a Cabernet Sauvignon by the carafe. Both house wines are from the Budureasca Winery. These wines are of good quality and very affordable, considering this is a high-end restaurant and bar. The staff here is friendly and always happy to answer any questions. Additionally, they have an outdoor seating area for customers who prefer to sit outside on nice weather days.

If you’re a wine enthusiast looking to explore the wineries near Sighisoara, you’re in for a treat. Teo’s Cellar is in the Citadel. However, there are several other wineries near Sighisoara:
Teo’s Cellar
Teo’s Cellar offers wine tastings and wines by the bottle. We had the 7-wine tasting flight, which came with a couple of bonus tastings. We also tasted the “fruits of the forest” liquor and the palinka. The owner/winemaker described each and provided other information about the grapes and wine growing process. We enjoyed the liquor and bought a small bottle to go (which we promptly poured over vanilla ice cream and devoured).
