A historic Styria estate founded by Benedictine monks in 1139, Dveri Pax has evolved into a celebrated organic winery. Spread across 73 ha, it produces a diverse portfolio—from aromatic Rieslings and indigenous Šipon to robust Pinot Noir and Blaufränkisch. The property includes an elegant tasting cellar in a former manor, a restaurant with Gault & Millau accolades, and guided tours of its vaulted space.

One of Slovenia’s largest and most esteemed producers, this Podravje-based estate offers tasting experiences in Jeruzalem Hills. Visitors can choose between the historic Vineyard Cottage Malek or the sleek Ormož tasting room to sample fresh, fruit-forward wines with local food pairings.

Embarking on a self-guided winery tour from Ljubljana is a fantastic way to explore the region’s wine culture at your own pace. If you have time to venture into the picturesque countryside, you’ll discover charming wineries offering unique experiences and exquisite wines in Slovenia.

If you have a driver (and you definitely should), you could leave Ljubljana after breakfast, visit both wineries with a stop for lunch, and be back in Ljubljana in time for dinner. Of course, how long the tour takes will depend on how long you spend at each winery.
